MIKE HARROP

Physiotherapist, ergonomist, bike fitter & founder

Mike gained a degree in Ergonomics from Loughborough University in 2004 and after a several years working in the industry went on to do further training to become a physiotherapist graduating in 2008 at the University of Essex. He spent 5 years in the NHS before undertaking a MSc in Advanced neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy at King’s College London furthering his clinical and manual therapy skills.

Following this he spent a further 7 years in London private practice at Pure Sports Medicine and also at the prestigious private orthopaedic hospital King Edward VII. Alongside his clinical duties he had a dual role in business development and delivering corporate talks and events on health and wellness.

He has a broad range of experience and has a specialist interest in treating lower limb and endurance sporting injuries, focusing on runners, cyclists and triathletes and did further training to become a qualified bike fitter to compliment this. His diverse background in Ergonomics helps him understand the complex interaction with the body and daily life and factors this into his treatments and bike fits.

Throughout his career he has worked in elite sport including football, swimming and gymnastics and at multiple ultradistance events often in extreme environments including: ultramarathons in the Amazon, the Himalayas and at ‘Race Across America’. Outside of sport Mike has been lucky enough to work with celebrities, west end stars, actors and members of Royal Families from Britain and abroad.

Mike has now relocated Cardiff where he balances his time between private practice and working in the NHS as a clinical specialist. He still works with sports and is the physio for the mens Welsh gymnastics team.
